The Northern Parking Garage
Development of a multi-storey car park with 792 parking spaces and 10,192 Sq. Ft. of retail shopping for UDC, Digicel and surrounding areas to be developed as a Private Public Partnership (PPP).
Since its inception in 2011, the development of the UDC's Northern parking lot entails the design and build of a multi-storey parking garage which will facilitate a parking capacity of 792 cars coupled with serviced commercial spaces. The development's aim is to satisfy the demand for additional parking spaces in and around the downtown Kingston Waterfront.
The project at present will see a 5 level structure that will provide both parking and commercial spaces on the street level with the remaining four levels solely dedicated to parking. The development will also incorporate renewable energy components in the form of photovoltaic panels and will also see the incorporation of grey water recycling measures to be implemented in its design and construction.
