Driver, Montego Bay Branch Office – Career


Job Summary:

The incumbent has the responsibility to undertake driving activities as it relates to the business operations of the Montego Bay Branch Office. The driver also has the responsibility of maintaining the vehicle to ensure its operation at optimal efficiency, ensures that it is always clean and in a condition ready to be used. The incumbent will ensure that goods, materials and other related items are collected as prescribed and that staff is transported as directed.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

· Secondary School leaving certificate
· SSC Certificate with Range VI
· Open General Drivers Licence (minimum weight 6000 pounds)
· At least two (2) years’ experience driving a commercial vehicle
· Basic knowledge of motor mechanics and the maintenance of a vehicle
· Basic knowledge of location of companies with whom business is done around the Montego Bay business district and out of town areas as required

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

· Ability to follow oral and written instructions
· Ability to communicate intelligently
· Courteous and tactful

Special Conditions Associated with the Job:-

· Required to be in traffic for long periods of time
· Required to perform tasks which involve some manual dexterity e.g. lifting heavy objects in loading and unloading the vehicle
· Will be physically taxed from time to time
