LEGAL SECRETARY (OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL)

THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRES A SECRETARY (OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL)

Job Summary:

The incumbent has responsibility for the provision of legal secretarial support to the Office of the General Counsel.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

· Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration and a minimum two (2) years’ experience OR
· Administrative Professional certification and four (4) GCE/CXC subjects including English and five (5) years’ experience
· Para-Legal Certificate would be advantageous
· Sound knowledge of administrative and office procedures
· Sound knowledge of file management techniques
· Sound knowledge of conveyancing transactions
· Experience in dealing with litigation documents
· Experience working in a legal department

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

· Ability to assist in the preparation of legal documents, statements and letters as required
· Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
· Expert typing and speedwriting skills
· Sound minute taking and minute preparation skills
· Sound word processing and database software skills
