The Secretarial Assistant is primarily responsible for providing the Secretariat with general administrative support and assisting the Corporate Secretary with the preparation of statutory returns and declarations. He or she may also be required to attend meetings of Board Committees.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

· CPS with 5 GCE/CXCs including English Language and Mathematics and 4 years of experience in the field or

· Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent with 3 years’ experience in a similar position

· Sound knowledge of operational policies and procedure

· Sound knowledge of Minute taking

· Competency in filing statutory documentation to the Companies Office of Jamaica

· Familiarity with the Urban Development Corporation Act and other relevant legislations

· Some knowledge of the Companies Act and Meeting Procedures

· Excellent knowledge of computer software, such as Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel

· Proficient in the use of the internet and web-based databases

· Sound knowledge of file management techniques

· Good interpersonal and people management skills

· Excellent communication skills, both orally and in writing

· Excellent time management skills

· Excellent planning and organizing skills

· Ability to work on own initiative
