PROCUREMENT OFFICER (CONTRACT)

Job Summary:

The Procurement Officer has the responsibility to coordinate and facilitate the acquisition of goods, works and services for the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) and assist with the preparation of bid invitations and the analysis of bids. The incumbent shall ensure that the procurement of goods, works and services are procured from the most suitable and qualified contractors whilst maximizing savings and benefits for the Corporation.  These activities are to be carried out in accordance with the Government of Jamaica’s Public Procurement Policies and Procedures.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • Associate Degree in Management Studies, Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management would be an asset
  • At least three (3) years related experience working with public sector procurement
  • Expert knowledge of Government of Jamaica Public Procurement Policies and Procedures
  • Working knowledge in purchasing and inventory management
  • Working knowledge of the Finance and Administration Audit Act (FAA Act)
  • Expert knowledge of contract documentation and contract administration procedures
  • Working knowledge of procurement methods
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
