(l-r) Michael Johnson, Economic Development Manager, Urban Development Corporation (UDC) assists a volunteer to plant a tree. The occasion was UDC’s Annual Tree Planting Activity at Hellshire Hills. This event which was staged on October 8, 2011 was led by the Corporation’s Natural Resources Management and Environmental Planning (NRMEP) Department. The event was organized to commemorate National Tree Planting Day. Over 100 trees were planted by participants from UDC, students from schools within St. Catherine and Kingston and St. Andrew, residents of the surrounding communities in Hellshire Hills and children from childcare and protective institutions in in Kingston and St. Andrew.
