The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will stage its premier event ‘Fireworks on the Waterfront’ on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31, in collaboration with major sponsors Digicel and New Era Homes 2000 Limited.
The event has a full slate of activities scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. In keeping with tradition, the event will be staged along Ocean Boulevard, and will include a children’s play area with a variety of rides, as well as vending stalls offering food, art and craft items and entertainment.
The UDC will host an exclusive VIP party in a cabana erected stage side which will be managed by Jacqui Tyson of From Yardstyle to Gourmet restaurant.
The event will also feature a stage show with popular artistes continuing until 1:00 a.m. with the main highlight being a fireworks display at midnight
Fireworks on the Waterfront was first staged by the UDC in 1999 to usher in the new millennium and was intended to be a one-off event. However, due to overwhelming public demand the UDC has sought in subsequent years to stage the event.
