Major acts to headline Fireworks 2013

The Urban Development Corporation’s celebrated event, Fireworks on the Waterfront, will once again be headlined by popular artistes including, Kevin Downswell, Mr. Vegas, Verlando Small, Omari, One Drop Routz, Nickeisha Barnes, Ryan Berry and Jermaine Edwards. The event will also include a stage show which will continue until 1:00 a.m. with the main highlight being a fireworks display at midnight. Master of Ceremonies will be Miss Kitty. An annual event, Fireworks on the Waterfront will be staged on New Year’s Eve, Tuesday, December 31, 2013, on Ocean Boulevard, downtown Kingston. The main sponsors are Digicel and New Era Homes 2000 Limited. The event has a full slate of activities scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. which will include a children’s play area with a variety of rides, as well as vending stalls offering food, art and craft items and entertainment.

Fireworks on the Waterfront was first staged by the UDC in 1999 to usher in the new millennium and was intended to be a one-off event. However, due to overwhelming public demand the UDC has sought in subsequent years to stage the event.
