UDC Chairman KD Knight Addresses UTech Students’ Awards Ceremony

Dr. Carol Archer, Dean, Faculty of the Built Environment, presents guest speaker Senator K.D. Knight, QC Chairman of the Urban Development Corporation with a plaque in appreciation of his address to the Faculty’s annual Students’ Awards ceremony on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at UTech’s Papine Campus. In his address, Mr. Knight encouraged the graduates to take pride in their professional practice with a commitment to continuous improvement. “Professionalism means development in professional knowledge and practice, that is, self-improvement which leads to increased contribution to national output,” Mr. Knight said. The Faculty honoured the most outstanding students from its two schools – School of Building and Land Management and the Caribbean School of Architecture, the only one of its kind in the English-speaking Caribbean. Awards were presented for outstanding academic performance, community service, technology, and sport. The UDC Award for Most All-Round 4th Year Urban and Regional Planning Student went to Ricardo Williams.
