The occasion was the Digicel Foundation annual 5K Night Run/Walk Launch held on August 13, 2014 at the Digicel Headquarters in Kingston. The 5K Night Run/Walk attracts thousands of participants each year to share in the experience of running or walking through the streets of Downtown Kingston while at the same time raising funds and increasing awareness of the ‘Special Needs Community’ in Jamaica. This year marks the third staging of the event with the Digicel Foundation seeking 10,000 persons to join them in ensuring that Jamaicans with special needs are able to reach their full potential. The UDC which has supported the worthy cause since its inception has provided access to all its major car parks in Downtown Kingston to the Digicel Foundation. The Digicel Foundation 5K Night Run/Walk is slated for Saturday October 11, 2014 at 7:00 pm starting at Ocean Boulevard, Downtown Kingston.
