Mariana Chryso Vergi, international student assigned to the Rae Town Community, paints the fencing along the Salvation Army Rae Town Basic School as a part of Labour Day activities on Monday, May 25, 2015. Chryso Vergi, who learned about the Urban Development Corporation’s (UDC) Labour Day project online, joined the team as a part of a community observation course in her studies at Bates College in the United States of America (USA). In the background, a member of the community applies paint to another section of the fencing. The UDC carried out improvement and beautification works at the School as a part of development efforts in the area. The theme for Labour Day 2015 was “Labour of Love: Nurturing our Children.”
