Workmen carefully coordinate the removal of palm trees for relocation along the area being redeveloped as part of the Ocho Rios Promenade, St. Ann on July 6, 2017. The project is valued at approximately $J133 million and begun in May 2017. The stamped concrete walkway will extend over 300 metres from the Ocho Rios Marina to the entry gate of the Ocho Rios Bay Beach and will feature multi-coloured interlocking pavers, areas for seating and shopping kiosks. This forms one component of a multi-billion dollar redevelopment programme slated for the town as it continues its redevelopment. The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) will be managing some of the works under that programme valued up to approximately $500 million in this year alone through funding sources such as the Tourism Enhancement Fund.
