URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRES THE SERVICES OF A CONFERENCE SERVICES MANAGER (CONTRACT)

Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for the co-ordination of conference services by liaising with clients regarding bookings and coordination of support services to ensure quality service at all times to users of the Jamaica Conference Centre.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management and International Relations or equivalent
  • Five (5) years’ experience at the supervisory level with two (2) years conference services experience
  • Experience in the hospitality industry would be an asset
  • Expert knowledge of conference & meetings management
·      Working knowledge of current trends in the hospitality industry
  • Sound knowledge of Marketing principles
  • Working knowledge of Foreign Language
  • Working knowledge of computer applications e.g. Excel, PowerPoint

  • Sound Events Planning Skills
  • Well-developed managerial and forecasting skills
  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
