THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRE THE SERVICES OF A SENIOR SECRETARY(CONTRACT)

Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial services, including the control and monitoring of all documents entering and leaving the Director’s office to ensure prompt action on all matters, as well as types, dispatches, files correspondence, arranges meetings and take minutes.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • CPS with five (5) CXC/GCE subjects including English Language and Mathematics and three (3) years’ experience in a similar position or
  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration or equivalent with two (2) years’ experience in a similar position
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and office procedures
  • Sound knowledge of File Management techniques
  • Sound knowledge of minute-taking and reproduction

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
  • Expert typing and speedwriting skills
  • Sound minute taking and minute preparation skills
  • Expert telephone techniques
  • Excellent human relations skills
  • Excellent record management skills
  • Excellent time management skills
