THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRES THE SERVICES OF A SECRETARY OFFICE OF THE GENERAL COUNSEL (CONTRACT)

Job Summary:

The incumbent has responsibility for the provision of legal secretarial support to the Office of the General Counsel.

The ideal candidate should have:

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Secretarial Studies/Business Administration and a minimum two (2) years’ experience OR
  • Administrative Professional certification and four (4) GCE/CXC subjects including English and five (5) years’ experience
  • Para-Legal Certificate would be advantageous
  • Sound knowledge of administrative and office procedures
  • Sound knowledge of File Management techniques
  • Sound knowledge of conveyancing transactions
  • Experience in dealing with litigation documents
  • Experience working in a legal department  

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

  • Ability to assist in the preparation of legal documents, statements

and letters as required

  • Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms 
  • Expert typing and speedwriting skills
  • Sound minute taking and minute preparation skills
  • Sound word processing and database software skills
