Job Summary:
The incumbent has the responsibility to direct and coordinate the activities of staff, consultants and contractors involved in the planning, designing and management of engineering projects, in accordance with the terms and conditions of approved urban and regional Development Plans. The incumbent is regarded as the chief technical expert in the discipline and will be required to provide technical advice and guidance to the Corporation in the related discipline as required.
The ideal candidate should have:
Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience
- Post Graduate Degree in (Civil Structural or Electrical) Engineering with eight (8) years post qualification engineering experience, minimum four (4) years as a Design Engineer/Senior Engineering Manager or
- Bachelor’s Degree in (Civil Structural or Electrical) Engineering with ten (10) years’ post qualification Engineering experience with a minimum of six (6) years as a Design Engineer at a senior management level
- Registered Professional Engineer under the Professional Engineering Registration Act
- Expert knowledge of Engineering techniques
- Sound knowledge of construction contracts
- Working knowledge of financial management principles and techniques
Required Skills and Specialized Techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms
- Excellent human relations skills
- Excellent design standards and technical skills
- Sound Computer Aided Design and word-processing software skills
