The Urban Development Corporation (UDC) notes reported excerpts in sections of the media regarding the most recent Annual Report of the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) for the financial year ended March 2013, where the OCG reported on matters related to the Corporation.
Of concern to the UDC is an excerpt from the Report, alleging that one of the contracts reported on, was awarded to a close friend of the UDC’s General Manager. We wish to clarify that the Contract was signed March 2010 and as such the reported events preceded the tenure of the incumbent General Manager.
The UDC has the highest regard for the Office of the Contractor General and continues to make every effort to be compliant with the procedures governing the efficient operations of the Corporation.
