Job Summary:
The incumbent has the responsibility to ensure the smooth operation and proper maintenance of all air-conditioning and associated equipment primarily at Block 11, Jamaica Conference Centre and secondarily at Seabed Arcade for which the UDC provides maintenance services. Responds to the needs of tenants at assigned locations where their needs impact his/her duties, to ensure their safety and comfort.
The ideal candidate should have:
Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience
• Tertiary level qualification – Diploma in Air Conditioning /Refrigeration or equivalent.
• At least five (5) years’ experience in Air conditioning/Mechanical maintenance, with three (3) years’ experience at a supervisory level in air conditioning/refrigeration maintenance in a large organization.
• Formal knowledge of the practice and procedures in the areas of air-conditioning and refrigeration.
• Formal knowledge of maintenance planning, implementation and co-ordination of projects.
• Formal knowledge of interpreting blueprints.
• Formal knowledge of industrial safety procedures.
Required Skills and Specialized Techniques
· Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.
· Ability to analyze and solve problems in related areas.
· Ability to organize and supervise people to produce desired results, as well as deal effectively with tenants’ requests.
· Good customer service skills
