THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRES THE SERVICES OF A OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGER (Fixed Term Contract)

ob Summary:

 

The Occupational Safety and Health Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating a corporate health and safety program directed towards maintaining a safe and healthy work environment which helps to prevent harm to employees, property, the environment and the customers of the UDC and its subsidiaries.

 

The ideal candidate should have:

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health/Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related discipline from an accredited tertiary institution

• At least five years working experience in the discipline three of which should be at a senior supervisory or managerial level

• Formal knowledge of practice and procedures in the area of Occupational Safety & Health

• Knowledge of governmental regulations and applicable standards

• Knowledge in the field of safety compliance and auditing

• Knowledge of relevant computer applications, e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point

 

Required Skills and Specialized Techniques

• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms.

• Ability to analyze and solve problems in related areas. 

• Ability to organize people to produce desired results.

• Excellent interpersonal skills.

• Excellent time management skills.
