HARMONY BEACH PARK SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEO

STATEMENT

Access to Harmony Beach Park, Montego Bay

The UDC has seen the video in circulation and hopes to offer some clarity to the concerns raised.

Harmony Beach Park, which was opened by the Most Honourable Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, in May of this year, remains a free-access, public Beach Park. Access to the beach and grounds of Harmony Beach Park is free of cost to all guests, who are required to adhere to the governing COVID-19 protocols that are in place across all attractions.

The Park offers paid parking for patrons at a rate of $200 per hour or $700 per day. Beach furniture and lockers are also available for rent. Persons who desire to have small gatherings such as birthday parties, bridal showers and the like may also rent sections of the Park to host their private events, within the confines of the COVID-19 regulations.

Given these government-implemented protocols, the amenities that are currently open to the public are the lawn areas, washroom facilities and the beach. The Kiddies Play Areas and Multi-Purpose Court are closed to the public to manage visitor numbers as well as guest and staff safety during this time. The Kiddies Play area is, however, available for rent for private, group events of no more than 10 persons as per the COVID guidelines.

The Corporation encourages its guests to work alongside our capable team as we navigate these challenging times. The UDC thanks the public for its patronage and looks forward to the continued support of Harmony Beach Park.
