UDC LAUNCHES WHATSAPP CUSTOMER SERVICE CHANNEL DURING 58TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS

Kingston, Jamaica, March 31, 2026: The Urban Development Corporation, UDC, has launched a dedicated WhatsApp customer service number, (876) 405-3820, as part of its 58th anniversary celebrations, further strengthening its efforts to make the organisation more accessible, responsive and connected to the people of Jamaica. The introduction of the new communication channel marks another step in the Corporation’s modernisation of its customer service interface and comes at a significant time as the UDC reflects on 58 years of shaping communities, creating opportunities and managing spaces and projects that support national growth and development. Through the new WhatsApp platform, members of the public will be able to engage the UDC directly for information relating to the Corporation’s parks, attractions, development projects, facilities and services.

This includes enquiries about attractions such as The World- Famous Dunn’s River Falls and Park, Harmony Beach Park, Ocho Rios Bay Beach, Turtle River Park and Reach Falls, as well as information on the Corporation’s wider development portfolio and public engagement activities. In addition, the platform is expected to support improved communication with persons interested in the Corporation’s role in events facilitation, recreational spaces, commercial opportunities and community centred development activities across the island.

UDC’s Manager of Customer Service, Diane Barrett Hanson, said “the new platform reflects the Corporation’s commitment to meeting customers where they are, by providing faster more accessible and convenient communication channels. This initiative should enhance response times, improve service delivery and ensure that our customers can engage with us seamlessly and efficiently.

As we celebrate 58 years of service to Jamaica, the launch of our Customer Service WhatsApp Line represents a meaningful step in strengthening how we connect with our customers” she said. Meanwhile, the UDC said the addition of the WhatsApp channel aligns with its broader thrust to improve service delivery and public communication, while ensuring that stakeholders have a simple and user-friendly way to interact with the organisation. Persons may message the UDC on WhatsApp at (876) 405-3820 to start the conversation.

As the Corporation commemorates its 58th anniversary, the launch of the WhatsApp service stands as another demonstration of its enduring mission of Making Development Happen for the people of Jamaica. The UDC also invites customers to subscribe to its Whatsapp channel
