Job Summary:
The incumbent has the responsibility to direct and coordinate the activities of staff, consultants and contractors involved in the planning, designing and management of engineering projects, in accordance with the terms and conditions of approved urban and regional development plans. The incumbent is regarded as the chief technical expert in the discipline and will be required to provide technical advice and guidance to the Corporation in the related discipline as required.
The ideal candidate should have:
Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience
• Post Graduate Degree in (Civil Structural or Electrical) Engineering with eight (8) years post qualification engineering experience, minimum four (4) years as a Lead Designer or
• Bachelor’s Degree in (Civil Structural or Electrical) Engineering with ten (10) years’ post qualification engineering experience with a minimum of six (6) years as a Lead Designer / Manager on projects.
• Demonstratable experience in managing projects at a senior level, to include managing projects funded by the GOJ and international agencies/organizations.
• Demonstrate high levels of functionality and competence in communicating and engaging stakeholders, including internal facilitation across organizational business units.
• Sound knowledge of regulatory framework, as well as standards, codes, and best practices for the built environment
• Expert knowledge of project life-cycle methodology
• Sound knowledge of financial management and procurement principles and techniques as well as administration of construction contracts including FIDIC
• Registered Professional Engineer under the Professional Engineering Registration Act

• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and succinctly
• Excellent human relations skills and proven ability to lead a team
• Ability to use relevant software for the profession e.g. AutoCAD Suite, Revit, Civil 3D. as well as Project Management software e.g. Microsoft Projects
• Negotiation and problem-solving skills
• Ability to drive results and meet tight timelines and cost objectives
