THE URBAN DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION REQUIRES THE SERVICES OF A PROCUREMENT MANAGER (Fixed Term Contract)

Job Summary:

 

Reporting to the Director Strategic Sourcing and Procurement the Strategic Sourcing and Procurement Manager will have responsibility to execute the Sourcing and Procurement function of the Corporation, while optimizing cost savings within the framework of Government of Jamaica Procurement Guidelines and the Corporation’s financial strategy.

 

The ideal candidate should have:

 

Specific Knowledge, Qualification and Experience

 

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies, Business Administration, Engineering or equivalent from an accredited tertiary institution.

• At least five (5) years’ experience working with government procurement management three (3) of which should be at a supervisory or managerial level.

• Sound knowledge of the Public Procurement Act, 2015 (as Amendment)

• Sound knowledge of the Public Procurement Regulations, 2018 (as amended)

• Sound knowledge of the Special and Differential Treatment Measures (SDTM)

• Sound knowledge of the use of the Government of Jamaica eProcurement System

• Sound knowledge of contract documentation and contract administration procedures

• Working knowledge of project/Contract Management

• Knowledge of auditing would be an asset

• Working knowledge of the Financial Administration and Audit Act (FAA Act) 

• Working knowledge of relevant computer applications e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access

• Sound knowledge of financial management and procurement principles and techniques.
